Jaden Baker has stepped into the role of Fisheries Supervisor with the Carrier Sekani Tribal Council, reporting to the TSU/Fisheries Manager and operating out of the Vanderhoof office. In this role, Jaden works closely with fisheries staff, biologists, and partners including Fisheries and Oceans Canada to support the protection and revitalization of salmon, white sturgeon, and other species at risk across the region. With several years of experience in CSTC Fisheries, Jaden brings a hands-on, collaborative approach grounded in both field work and relationship-building with communities.
A proud member of Stellat’en First Nation and of the Frog Clan, Jaden is the son of Willie and Sonja Baker, a devoted father and spouse, and a resident of Vanderhoof, where he finds a meaningful balance between his work and his home Nation. For Jaden, fisheries work is more than a career — it is a life passion rooted in responsibility to the land, the water, and future generations. His commitment to protecting fish and aquatic ecosystems is guided by the hope that his sons, and their children after them, will one day be able to carry forward the same teachings, knowledge, and respect for the fish that sustain our communities.
