Final Decision (taken from Government of Canada website)
In conformity with the approval of the Governor in Council, a decision was taken on March 7, 2008 and was that the authorities shall not exercise any power or perform any duty or function with respect to the project because, after taking into consideration the report of the review panel and taking into account the implementation of appropriate mitigation measures, the authorities are of the opinion that the project is likely to cause significant adverse environmental effects that cannot be justified in the circumstances.
Lessons Learned Report
The Takla Lake First Nation, with its partners, developed this document to record and make recommendations to future leaders, community members and decision-makers on what the community learned about their experience in dealing with the Crown and a mining company set on destroying Amazay Lake (Duncan Lake).
